A place for connection and healing through THERAPEUTIC arts practice

Hi! I'm Sally, affectionately known as Sally Softheart, and it is why I've named my arts therapy business Studio Softheart. This nickname might have something to do with the pleasing alliteration, but it also reflects my value of softness and kindness that true relational presence can bring to each moment and how that can foster connection and healing.
I believe we transform through connection to self, to others, to the environment, and to our creativity. Arts therapy is a great mode to facilitate this through the use of art making, movement, music, sound, sand tray and other creative processes as a form of inquiry.
Arts therapy can help us come to know and express aspects of ourselves that may be hard to articulate with words or thoughts. By focussing on the process of making, it can help us to experience the present moment.
Together we can collaborate to create sessions that meet your individual needs and goals. No previous art making experience is required. All materials provided.
I value kindness, presence, curiosity, openness, transparency, playfulness, and emergence and bring these to each session.
Some may feel uncertain about initially engaging in a therapuetic arts practice. While it can feel scary to step into something different or new, I believe self-expression and creativity are for everyone. I am dedicated to creating safe spaces for one's creative expression to emerge. Participants may receive a Creative Licence - a playful and encouraging way to grant themselves permission to explore and create.
